Stupidity is a lack of intelligence, understanding, reason, wit, or common sense. Stupidity may be innate, assumed or reactive – a defence against grief[1] or trauma

These are Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity:

Always and inevitably each of us underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.

The probability that a given person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic possessed by that person.

A person is stupid if they cause damage to another person or group of people without experiencing personal gain, or even worse causing damage to themselves in the process.

Non-stupid people always underestimate the harmful potential of stupid people; they constantly forget that at any time anywhere, and in any circumstance, dealing with or associating themselves with stupid individuals invariably constitutes a costly error.

A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person there is.

If you don't understand Gaussian Distributions (bell shaped curve) see the link below.

Introduction to Normal Distributions
http://onlinestatbook.com/2/normal_distr...intro.html

See, Mean, Median..

We say the data is "normally distributed":

The Normal Distribution has:
mean = median = mode
symmetry about the center
50% of values less than the mean
and 50% greater than the mean

Stanford–Binet Intelligence Scales

The development of the Stanford–Binet initiated the modern field of intelligence testing and was one of the first examples of an adaptive test. The test originated in France, then was revised in the United States. It was initially created by the French psychologist Alfred Binet, who, following the introduction of a law mandating universal education by the French government, began developing a method of identifying "slow" children, so that they could be placed in special education programs, instead of labelled sick and sent to the asylum.[1] As Binet indicated, case studies might be more detailed and helpful, but the time required to test many people would be excessive. In 1916, at Stanford University, the psychologist Lewis Terman released a revised examination that became known as the Stanford–Binet test.

...and don't forget the Dunning–Kruger effect.
As I notice the curve of stupidity,

There is a Highlight or peak of Intelligence..

Shit.

We can only hope.

I don't underestimate the number of stupid people.
Everyone I see is stupid.

The masses (95%+) are borderline mental retards.
There is no intelligence anymore. People may know 'things' but they don't know how to think or reason.

Stupid people are so stupid they don't realize they are stupid.
The masses are stupid and don't know it.

Vaping essential oils, good or bad?
Heating is critical as to not generate VOCs?
Essentially fatty oils always bad to vape them, that's a no-no?
Oregano vaping okay?

So very true.
This is not 'woe is me', but it's hard to live amongst this sea of mediocrity.

My neighbour - a nice, decent woman - has all but stopped speaking to me. I can tell by her rolling eyes and the jocular 'tch! there 'e goes again with 'is big words' etc., that she's out of her depth at my use of anything past the most basic of 3 syllable words, ANYTHING vaguely to do with science, economics, government, history...anything but the weather (the brief soundbite version) and what our other neighbours are up to (in a kindly way, she's not a gossip-monger thank goodness).

There are soooo many like her, who do not know how attenuated their brains and lives are.

I find solace in my own company more and more. It's good to be able to share about it here.
