The Department of Justice Inspector a General released a report Thursday showing thousands of text messages sent by fired FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI attorney Lisa Page were not properly preserved and presented a “gap” in investigating their misconduct at the Bureau.

"The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General initiated this investigation upon being notified of a gap in text message data collection during the period December 15, 2016 through May 17, 2017, from Federal Bureau of Investigation mobile devices assigned to FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page relevant to a matter being investigated by the OIG's Oversight and Review Division. Specifically, the OIG's Cyber Investigations Office was asked to attempt recovery of these missing text message for the referenced period from FBI issued mobile devices issued to Strzok and Page," the report states. "In view of the content of many of the text messages between Strzok and Page, the OIG also asked the Special Counsel's Office to provide the OIG the DOJ issues iPhones that had been assigned to Strzok and Page during their respective assignments to the SCO."

I'm wondering if that word was meant to be ISSUED, meaning, take position of the physical device? Big difference .. Serious Typo ?
Maybe they had been under suspicion and were issued phones tied to the BIG comp in Salt Lake City!! LOL

No telling.

But, I'm guessing if you and I were running that potential sting OP, we would have Everything tracked, backed up at muti trusted locations and have more than one agency doing the work. There would be no question of the accuracy or chain of evidence.

I think they meant issued.

So the FBI and DOJ say they can't recover e-mails the Public already has and have been reading for months?

Gross incompetency is rewarded with being fired and no pension. All the top 25 people at the DOJ must go. All of them were required to keep each other honest and it has not happened.

I've had to deal with the feds now and then for security clearances. The guys on the ground, worker bees, seem okay. It's the people at the top who are corrupt.

I don't know if Law Schools attract corrupt people or, if they manufacture them in 3 years time ?

I have someone proof read anything that is even a little bit official. Are these people that stupid ?

Ever watch the TV show called (Person of Interest) ? there is more to that show than we would like to know, as far as being monitored and having a record of it. they been able to monitor for years but they needed new software to be able to extract it in a timely useful manner, i believe that computer and others were brought on line after it was announced by a team in Berkley Ca. they had developed the software they needed to do that.
