Tony Joe White died yesterday. Damn, that song is still good.
He also wrote Rainy Night in Georgia. Recorded by over one hundred artist.
If you listen, your gonna have it in your head all day, thank me later.

Heir's post has it right. It is definitely "poke salet" or "poke sallet," and it is very tasty and probably good for you, too. Just be sure to harvest the pokeweed leaves when they are very young and tender--otherwise they are toxic. It takes a lot because they really cook down.
We dry and put by a small jar of Poke Berry every year . Take one or two for gland swelling that comes along while everyone else has " Flu " .

Good Medicine . . .

OH Dang....that's ironic....I love that song.....

short story....

Napster had just come out......My buddy came to my office which was right next door to the building which housed the Internet connections for then Northwestern Bell....he checked my office computer and loaded Napster on it....and started downloading music...superfast I was averaging about 50 songs an hour...that was light speed compared to the 56k modems of everyone else...

so we set up a computer that had nothing but hard drives in it....this is at a time when 40 gig Drives were 150 each...anyway

my job was to get the old stuff and he was going to get the contemporary stuff and we would combined our work later....

anyway........the first song I downloaded ever in history....is Polk Salad Annie....
