I need to try that with fresh eggs.

It works a treat. The baking soda increases the alkalinity of the shells which makes them separate from the membrane easier. Science bitches!!

Anyone who has kept chickens knows the pain of trying to peel fresh eggs.

Went to the store today and purchased three dozen Egglands Best eggs and boiled them because I needed to make 40 + deviled eggs tonight.  Half of those bastards didn't peel worth a shit and there is no way I'm sending deviled eggs that look like a fucking amateur made them to my ole ladies work. So the dogs had a great dinner tonight.

I didn't fall of the turnip wagon yesterday and know that fresh eggs when boiled are a bitch to peel, so I said fuck it I bet Dollar General get's the left over older eggs.  Off to Dollar General I go to buy more eggs.  Sure enough every one of those Dollar General eggs peeled like a champ.

Did I mention fuck eggs?

Anyhow, deviled eggs are made and I must say they taste pretty damn good.

First world problems.....   Lmao

Oh... and fuck fresh eggs.  Did I say that already?

I eat 3-6 eggs every day...I buy Egglands best also. Theyre awesome...SCRAMBLED...but you are right...You cant peel the hard boiled eggs without taking chunks out of the damn things.

Thought it was just me.

Chuckle

Turn the carton upside down overnite. Yolks in center everytime.
Put the eggs in cold water, then bring to a boil. Boil for one minute and cut the heat off...allow to cool in cold water. Peels like a champ and perfectly boiled. We gather eggs every day and never have a problem...

What egg wizardry is this??

We bought those "egglet" things on "as seen on TV" and what a fucking hassle and mess. Some jackass is laughing their ass all the way to the bank. No it was not my idea to buy the "egglets" it was the ole ladies. It's why I cringe when she goes shopping with out me to keep her in check.

Fuck me.. oh and fuck eggs. Facepalm
I basket steam my eggs for 17 min. (after water comes to boil) for a dozen.  Then put them in ice water for about 15 min.  They come out perfect every time.

I boil for a minute or two, take off heat and cover. Minimum 15 mins. Then drain and into cold water. Peel promptly.

No problem

Best peeling method.: tap both ends of egg against side of sink. Gently roll sides of egg on sink wall, shell will crumble, shell slips off easily, starting from end.

Boil for one minute?!

No thanks, I detest a runny or soft yolk.

I always start the eggs off in cold salted water, but I boil those fuckers for 20+ minutes then drain the hot water and turn the cold water on them.

What is it with you runny yolk people? Yak

The increasing temperature as the water reaches boiling point and allowing them to cool cooks them thoroughly, the yolk is not runny. Can't make deviled eggs with runnyyolks....more science, bitches...
