Gotta admit there are similarities.

First off the hair.

If you don't believe me, look at hollywood's impression of him, with Charleston Heston doing Billy Idol back in 1958.

Jackson was loved and hated as a two term president.

Loved by the common people and hated by bankers," As president, Jackson sought to advance the rights of the "common man"[1] against a "corrupt aristocracy"[2] and to preserve the Union."

Both Trump and Jackson made their fortunes in real estate. Some criticize Trump for questionable deals involving mafia types, while Jackson made money with land deals involving stolen Indian land.

Both Trump and Jackson wanted to return politics to the people and take it away from the established elites:

"Jackson's name has been associated with Jacksonian democracy or the shift and expansion of democracy with the passing of some political power from established elites to ordinary voters based in political parties. "The Age of Jackson" shaped the national agenda and American politics."

Both Trump and Jackson pledged to remove corruption:

"In an effort to purge the government of corruption, Jackson launched presidential investigations into all executive Cabinet offices and departments. He believed appointees should be hired on merit and withdrew many candidates he believed were lax in their handling of monies.[180] He asked Congress to reform embezzlement laws, reduce fraudulent applications for federal pensions, revenue laws to prevent evasion of custom duties, and laws to improve government accounting"

Throughout Jackson's Presidency, his poor writing was often ridiculed, as were his sometimes seemingly foolish decisions, like appointing a one legged veteran to head the Post office:

"Having appointed a soldier who had lost his leg fighting on the battlefield to postmaster, Jackson stated, "[i]f he lost his leg fighting for his country, that is ... enough for me.""

.
They are both ornery. Jackson is a cousin of mine that I am proud of.
Maybe.

I always thought he was General Patton.
