It's a start, but just a tiny bit of what needs to happen.
First, these voters weren't the problem. They've agreed to remove registered voters that haven't voted in at least two elections. These names do need to be purged, but "so what?" That means that someone didn't even try to vote illegally with their names. I appreciate that this will make it impossible to vote with those names in the future, but it's a non-issue administrative clean-up.
Second, they will just be replaced with active illegal voters through the Motor-Voter law. We were promised over and over again that that wouldn't happen. Well, it is happening.
While I truly appreciate what Judicial Watch is trying to do, this really won't have that much of an impact at all moving forward. I actually wish they hadn't settled.
Any true voter reform will have to be a Federal lawsuit (at the very least.) I'm all for state's rights, but this crap in CA is so corrupt, there's no way to fix it from the inside at this point.
