Have you all seen this before? Was called the Obama Grading Curve. Just sent to me by a friend. Hope I posted it legally and correctly:

Is this man a genius?

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on this plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Full Throttle

Sounds about right. No argument from me.
Socialism fails at its core premise already, namely that the state can govern behaviour.
This inevitably leeds to more or less violent oppression.

Humans will never voluntarily behave like bees, which they would have to for the concept to work.

^^ This is something for everyone to remember...
While I enjoy helping one of my neighbors who might need a hand, I don't like arbitrary charity. I know my neighbor gets what is needed. If Money is taken or given to "help", too much ends up with administrators, and too little with the needy.

@oldcynic I've read that before and loved it. Thanks for posting it. Heartflowers
I've read it before, but it's been a few years.

Definitely something that needs to be posted as a reminder from time to time, for the younger generations.

Every group is only as strong as it's weakest links.

If you don't make your weak links strong....it is called humanitarianism.

Socialism was an invention of the UK by the Fabian Socialists whom made the initial model for NZ's society. The socialism being sold today is not oppressive socialism, it is seductive because many people only seek to take the path of least resistance in their lives.

Economic socialism was invented by JP Morgan and it was originally called Economic Streamlining. Instead of being applied to a company it is applied to an occupied nation.

The professor in the example was just as bias as people selling socialism. His example engineered the result he desired and thus he was able to manipulate the opinions of his class, mind control at Universities at it's finest. Anyone who can think for themselves sees he took everything out of context to create a result he desired and knew would eventuate and he would suggest the overall system was identical in what would reproduced in the constructed model he made. He suggests human beings would not apply common sense just because they were socialists. This is pure conjecture. But because he acts as an authority figure many will believe him without further mental examination of the the overall data and facts.

A Man named Malthus is largely to blame for socialism. He proposed the idea is populations grew to big the whole of society would collapse because some people would not be able to get a job. In an humane society we would support those people but as population grew further eventually it would reach 50% unemployment and those in work could no longer afford to keep these people alive. He thought society would turn on itself. This was back in a day where the population of earth was less than a billion.

The result was people trying to make models of society where many people could live without it turning into a dog eat dog blood bath. This is where the Fabian Socialists were born. There idea was to see if everyone could be given a decent wage and a piece of land, a basic set of social rules and it should go well. NZ was the test bed of their ideals. A socialist nation where people were taught to give a damn about each other. The experiment resulted as predicted but that is too much Freedom for today's people and that experiment was ended by 1960.

I can tell you what a subtle system of control looks like because I was raised in one and almost no-one sees it. No different in any nation in the western world, we are all under socialist controls if you look. The whole idea of a central government is pivotal in a socialist system. True freedom has no rules or government, everything else is just a system of control which eventually boils down to a form of socialism which often denies it is just that. And thus the victims never overthrow it.
