Greedy dog’s cancer turned out to be four half-chewed TEDDY BEARS

A SICK St Bernard dog feared stricken with cancer has made a remarkable recovery after vets discovered she had swallowed four toy teddies. CT images showed eight year old Maisy needed emergency surgery, with concerns that a huge internal mass could be a life-threatening tumour

Her heartbroken owner feared the worse as Maisy underwent surgery to remove her spleen – only for the veterinary surgeon to discover she had managed to chew up and swallow the teddy bears stolen from her family’s pet Chihuahuas.

Paragon Veterinary Referrals displayed the chewed up toys today after celebrating successful surgery and a cancer all-clear for Maisy, who bears a striking resemblance to the star of the hit Hollywood comedy, Beethoven.

For owner Jane Dickinson there was nothing funny about Maisy’s antics which resulted in emergency surgery.

Jane Dickinson, from Roberttown, near Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, said: “When Maisy went in I did think, 'is she coming out?’, but she is loving life now and it's like she's got her youth back.

Wondered where the Chihuahuas hid those chew toys.
